Beta terms

KarbonBook beta · last updated 1 October 2026

These terms apply between [Khoo Daw Chang] ("we") and each organisation invited to the KarbonBook beta, and to everyone who signs in for that organisation. By signing in you accept them on behalf of your organisation. Our Privacy notice explains how personal data is handled.

The beta

The beta is by invitation, free of charge, and is for evaluating KarbonBook: uploading your own documents, checking the emissions calculated from them, and seeing the report. Each organisation can process up to 10 documents during the beta.

Features may change, be added or be removed during the beta. We may suspend or end the beta; where we can, we will give at least 14 days' notice.

No guarantee

KarbonBook is provided as it is, while it is being tested. It may be unavailable at times, contain errors, or lose data. Keep your original documents; KarbonBook is not a place to archive them.

Results are not assured

Details are read from documents by an AI model and can be wrong. Emissions are calculated with published emission factors and methods that we choose and may update. You are responsible for reviewing each record before approving it and for anything you publish.

The report is not independently assured, does not calculate Scope 3 emissions, and is not professional or legal advice. It does not replace any assurance or review your organisation needs for Bursa Malaysia or other reporting.

Your data

Your organisation keeps all rights in the documents and data it uploads. You allow us to store and process them only to provide KarbonBook to your organisation during the beta.

You confirm that your organisation may share these documents with us, and that the people named in them have been told their details are processed for this purpose.

We treat your documents and results as confidential. We look at them only to support you when you ask, or to keep the service secure. We may use counts of documents and usage, never their content, to improve KarbonBook.

Using KarbonBook properly

Upload only your organisation's own business documents. Keep your password to yourself; each person signs in with their own account. Do not try to access another organisation's data, get around the beta limits, test the security without our written agreement, or upload anything harmful.

We may suspend an account that breaks these rules.

Feedback

We welcome feedback and may use it to improve KarbonBook without owing you anything for it.

Ending the beta and deleting your data

Your organisation can stop using KarbonBook at any time and ask us to delete its data. We delete the organisation, its records, its audit trail, its files and its users' logins within 30 days of a confirmed request.

When the beta ends, we will tell you about paid plans. If your organisation does not continue, its data is deleted within 30 days of the end of the beta.

Liability

Because the beta is free and experimental, and as far as the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profits, or decisions made on the basis of KarbonBook's results, and our total liability to your organisation is limited to RM 100. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

Changes and law

We may update these terms; we will update the date above and tell beta users of significant changes before they apply. These terms are governed by the laws of Malaysia, and the courts of Malaysia have jurisdiction.
